Paharmacy Board president denies rasing fees

Pharmacy Board President, Andrew Rahaman is rebuffing claims that the board raised its fees illegally.

Speaking on Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show, he said that members were asked to voluntarily donate an additional $50 per month to help the Board reduce its debts.

Rahaman explained that the donations were then used to clear the outstanding $250 thousand in rent owed by the Board.

This follows on the heels of several other imbroglios regarding the board including questions by members being put to Mr Rahaman regarding the operations of the board and calling for an AGM to be held.

This came after a public clash between Rahaman and the Ministry of Health regarding the issuance of practising certificates for pharmacists.

However, Rahaman suggested that current issues facing the Pharmacy Board are resulting from personality clashes and him being targeted by Government Officials.
