OWTU Calls On Paria Fuel Trading Company Senior Personnel To Step Down

The Oilfields Workers Trade Union is calling for senior personnel at Paria Fuel Trading Company Limited to step down from their position until the probe into the recent deaths of four divers is completed.

President General of the Oilfields Workers Trade Union, Ancil Roget, made the appeal while speaking at a news briefing held Friday.

Mr Roget said his call is not about casting blame or innocence on the senior management of the company but about ensuring fairness and transparency in the investigative process.

The trade union leader suggested Paria’s Chairman, General Manager and Operations Manager step down not as a form of disciplinary action but to ensure justice appears to be done.

Mr Roget said he is hoping the crime scene is preserved by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service to ensure the integrity of the site remains intact and avoid possible interference.
