A breakdown of additional health care workers hired during the Covid-19 pandemic was given in the Senate Tuesday by Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh.
Minister Deyalsingh said over three hundred and eighty-seven doctors were hired.
In term of nurses the figure stands at four hundred and forty-three.
Medical laboratory technicians thirty-three, hospital attendants ninety-eight and patient care assistance one hundred and nine.
Minister Deyalsingh said over one thousand three hundred and twenty-nine additional workers were hired in the public care health sector to treat with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister Deyalsingh said arrangements were also being put in place to treat with fatigue experienced by health care staff to help them better deal with mental health issues.
