Opposition tells Gov’t focus on jobs in Budget presentation

The Opposition says that the Government’s upcoming Budget presentation should be about one thing, and that’s jobs.

Couva South MP Rudranath Indarsingh offered some recommendations to Finance Minister Com Imbert who i s due to present the National Budget for fiscal year 2023 to Trinidad and Tobago in just over a week’s time.

He made the comment while speaking at the UNC’s weekly Sunday Press Conference.

He said the Government should also inform what it is doing to control food inflation.

He gave his assessment of unemployment in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Couva South MP also referenced the Prime Minister’s recent trip to Europe with Energy Minister Stuart Young for energy talks and to Washington DC for talks with high ranking US Officials including Vice President Kamala Harris, on issues like the de-risking of local banks.
