Opposition Senator claims there are gaps in the quarantine self-isolation system

Government is defending its performance in terms of having the necessary protocols to address persons who are quarantine for COVID-19 at home.

Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, brought a motion on the issue in the Senate Tuesday afternoon.

The Opposition Senator claimed there are gaps in the system which placed care givers and even those in quarantine at risk.

Senator Mark suggested consideration should be given by the government to use a measure which has been adopted by Barbados to
monitor individuals in quarantine.

However, in response to the claims put forward, Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Clarence Rambharat; highlighted the various steps taken by the ruling administration in areas such as testing for the virus.

The Leader of Government Business also commented on other action taken with respect to manpower, capacity and tracking affected
persons.
