Opposition Questions TTUTA’s Exclusion From Education Ministry’s National Advisory Committee

Strong points were put forward by the Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, as he questioned why the teachers union is not a part of the Ministry of Education’s National Advisory Committee.

During deliberation in the Senate on Tuesday, Senator Mark, asked whether the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association has been invited to serve as a member of the Committee and if not, why?

In responding to Senator Mark’s question, Leader of Government Business, Clarence Rambharat, indicated the role of the committee as well as its composition.

Mr Rambharat said the absence of TTUTA on this committee will in no way affect the teachers union’s opportunity to put forward its concerns or views to the Ministry of Education.
