Opposition MP says gov’t has failed to prioritize Moruga/Tableland following another double murder

Moruga/Tableland MP, Michelle Benjamin, has reiterated her call for more police patrols, following another double murder in her constituency.

According to reports, 21-year-old Kervon Singh and his 17-year-old sister Shenelle were chopped to death in New Grant on Wednesday night.

Benjamin said these killings, which follow the murders of Enrico Guerra and his five-year-old daughter Anika in Moruga, underscore a growing crime crisis in the constituency.

She claims that government has failed to prioritize Moruga/Tableland, despite numerous warnings and pleas.

MP Benjamin believes there must be more police patrols, more staffing and resources for police stations/posts and more work to provide young people with alternatives to crime.
