“After five budgets, and billions of taxpayer dollars spent, Dr. Keith Rowley has not one single achievement to speak of.”
This according to Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar during the United National Congress Monday Night virtual meeting.
She said “Not one promise has been kept. Wait…hang on…he has one. The bulbs. The “free” bulbs that cost taxpayers 8.8 million dollars.”
Persad-Bissessar also questioned the bulb contract, saying “the contract cost over 8 million dollars and was given to one of the three F’s – Friends, Family or a Financier. And how was that contract awarded? We have seen no tender. What was the process for awarding this contract?”
“Where did the CAF money go? Where has the millions given to deal with COVID gone, questions the Opposition Leader.
Today the government put on a show at the Hyatt on how they plan to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the economy.
Persad-Bissessar also spoke on the Government’s ‘Spotlight on the Budget presentation on Monday September 28 at the Hyatt Regency calling it “spotlight on their incompetence.”
She said “they would have us believe that the Rowley PNM wasn‘t in government for five years and made a complete mess of things – it was COVID.”
