The day the rule of law breaks down in this land we will have police state.
That is the view of Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar as she seemingly addressed the deaths of Joel Balcon and Andrew Morris.
Both men were suspects in the Andrea Bharatt case and died while in police custody.
Addressing supporters last night at the UNC’s Monday Night Rally, Persad-Bissessar said every citizen is innocent until proven guilty.
She urged persons to refrain from becoming the monsters the country is fighting against.
The Opposition leader noted that there must be due process.
She warned those arguing against this, to be careful that it doesn’t hit home.
