Online payments now accepted for custom fees

The customs brokerage community in Trinidad and Tobago can now make online credit card payments for the Inspection Fees of Imports to be undertaken by the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS).

This can now be done from anywhere in the world utilizing the Single Electronic Window for Trade and Business Facilitation (TTBizLink) platform under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The Ministry said the move is part of Government’s on-going thrust to improve the ease of doing business in Trinidad and Tobago.

Thy added that the online payment system eliminates the need to physically visit commercial banks and/or the TTBS’s Head Office to make payments and reduces the associated time taken. The process for updating payments is also automated, removing the need to scan and upload any proof of payment.

Once payments are processed electronically, confirmation notifications will be sent via e-mail to all users of the new service. This simplification and reduction in time will allow the TTBS to process online declarations applications earlier, thereby allowing for a more efficient goods clearance process.

TTBizLink is a Single Electronic Window (SEW) that is a secure, user-friendly online interface that gives businesses and individuals 24/7 access to applications for government’s trade and business services.

For further information please contact the TTBizLink Help Desk via 800-4739 or the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards at 662-8827.
