Online options are coming to alleviate the long lines of persons seeking to pay property tax.
This is according to Minister in the Ministry of Finance Brian Manning who was a guest on the Power Breakfast Show this morning.
Manning said that the Government is well aware of the long lines that have been reported of persons seeking to pay property tax and they are looking into ways help.
The deadline to pay Property Tax is September 30th.
As the deadline looms, there have been reports of very long lines of frustrated persons trying to pay before the end of the month.
When asked why the option of online payment was not offered to members of the public before so that lengthy lines could have been avoided, Minister Manning said that offering online payment was not as simple as persons may believe.
For those who may not meet the deadline the Minister said that he’s not in a position to say whether or not there would be an extention of the deadlines, he disclosed this would be for the Finance Minister to say.
