One Tobago Voice (OTV) – the three party coalition that initially said they will vie for seats in the upcoming general election – is now backing Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP’s) candidate Tashia Grace Burris.
Grace Burris is PDP’s candidate for Tobago West.
Chairman of OTV Hochoy Charles confirmed the news.
Charles’ Platform of Truth; Christlyn Moore’s Tobago Forwards and Ashworth Jack’s Tobago Organisation of the People form the OTV. They had announced that they will contest two Tobago seats- Tobago East and Tobago West.
But, the party is now only considering Juliana Henry-King for Tobago East.
The party has not yet confirmed if Henry-King registered Friday on Nomination Day.
Meanwhile, Political Leader of the PDP Watson Duke said he was “confused” about the choice.
Earlier this week, OTV’s Moore wrote a scathing letter to Duke in response to statements he made about the coalition party.
He called the members a bunch of backstabbers adding, “apart from that, you all are a bunch of losers.”
Duke has also been vocal about his decision to join the PNM and the UNC calling for a joint government in T&T, moving forward.
He said, “We have to put people before politics, it is time that we place the people’s issues first and forget the politics.”
