Trinbago Knight Riders Women cricketers got their Caribbean Premier League T20 competition off to a good start with victory against Barbados Royals in Basseterre, St Lucia, by one run in an exciting game on Wednesday.
TKR got revenge against Royals after losing the final to their Barbados counterparts last Sunday in the 6ixty women’s tournament.
Lee Ann Kirby of Trinidad and Tobago got the Player of the match award for her 30 runs.
Her score contributed to TKR reaching 114 for 7 of their 20 overs after winning the toss and deciding to bat first.
Kirby also had two wickets for 32 runs from four overs.
TKR Women will be aiming for a second straight win when they face Guyana Amazon Warriors tomorrow from 3pm.
