An anti-crime exercise was conducted in the Southern Division where several search warrants were executed.
It resulted in an arrest for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, one shotgun, a quantity of marijuana and the discovery of 1500 marijuana trees.
Thirty-eight year old DION WALTERS, of Company Circular Road, New Grant was arrested during the exercise which took place this morning.
He was charged by PC Phagoo for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking after 102 grams of cocaine was found in his possession.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to Marac Village, Moruga, based on information received.
A search was conducted and one shotgun and 2.27 kilograms of marijuana were found in a bushy area.
1500 marijuana trees were also found in the area and subsequently destroyed.
One rectangular block of plant-like material resembling marijuana was also found at Sixth Company Circular in Moruga.
