Officials expect COVID case count for this month will top that of April

For the month of May thus far, Trinidad and Tobago has recorded almost the same number of COVID-19 cases seen in all of April.

This was revealed by Epidemiologist Dr Avery Hinds, during today’s Ministry of Health media briefing.

Hinds said that April had 2,798 cases while, as of yesterday, May already recorded 2,531.

According to Dr Hinds, officials expect that the case count for this month will top that of April.

However, he is hopeful that the breaking mechanisms put in place will diminish the amount by which it manages to exceed April.
