Tobago officers issued 43 fixed penalty notices during a Traffic Enforcement Exercise yesterday. The exercise will be one of many conducted as officers keep the island’s roadways safe as preparations continue for Carnival celebrations from October 27th to 29th.
The notices were issued for various road traffic violations as officers patrolled Crown Point, Shirvan Road, Black Rock, and Bon Accord.
There were a total of 29 notices for seat belt violations, six for vehicles with defective tyres, five for use of a motor vehicle without a valid policy of insurance, two notices for carrying persons in a dangerous manner, and one for failing to place a child who is five years and under in a child restraint or booster seat in the vehicle while driving the vehicle.
The exercise was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Jackman and Superintendent Kirk under the supervision of Sgt Batson, W/Cpl Marcelle, and Cpl Haven.
