Officers escape injury and watch on as a police car went up in smoke

Officers of the Northern Division Task Force were able to escape injury the TTPS vehicle they were riding in caught on fire on Monday afternoon.

Police Officers were on patrol in a marked Nissan X-Trail when they noticed smoke coming from below the car as they drove on De Grannes Street Extension, Calvary Hill, Arima.

The officers stopped and rolled the car into an open area away from nearby bushes when it quickly caught fire.

The officers called in the fire service who extinguished the fire.

Arima police are continuing enquiries.
