An off-duty policeman was shot dead in Penal on Monday morning.
The victim is PC Zaid Mohammed.
Residents of Katwaroo Trace, Penal, told police they heard gunshots sometime before 10 am and then saw a vehicle speeding away from the scene.
Officers on patrol saw a car matching the description of the getaway car and intercepted it along with two Princes Town men.
The car was searched and a Glock 17 pistol was found under one of the front seats.
Investigations are currently underway.
