The Nurses Association says that its worst fears appear to be coming through.
President of the Trinidad and Tobago Registered Nurses Association (TTRNA) Idi Stewart told News Power Now this morning that it seems the spread of Covid 19 has now left the Costaat building and has made its way throughout the hospital.
He said this has left health care workers anxious and concerned.
Last week, Stuart indicated that some 25 nurses and other staff attached to the ward were placed on immediate quarantine leave over two weeks.
Stuart said nursing staff that left quarantine recently and returned to work had to go back into quarantine again because they had been exposed to the patient who died from the Covid virus.
He said the patient initially tested negative for the virus.
He said the Association is now concerned that health staff members are now showing symptoms of the virus.
