Nurses’ Association Head Reveals Some Student Nurses Have Received Outstanding Stipends

Some student nurses have been paid outstanding stipends.

This was disclosed by President of the Trinidad and Tobago Registered Nurses Association, Idi Stuart.

On Wednesday, student nurses attending the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago protested outside the Ministry of Education to highlight their situation.

Speaking with News Power Now this after, Mr Stuart stated that student nurses at two out of four institutions have received the outstanding monies; however, he expressed concern over the issue of some payments being made while others were left to wait.

Mr Stuart also confirmed some students nurses were owed for two years while others have been owed for five years.

He had some suggestions on what could be done to avoid a reoccurrence of the development.
