No water Thursday for residents in the North East

Work is set to be carried out at the Hollis Water Treatment Plant this week, which means that residents of North East Trinidad, at least parts thereof, will be without a pipe-borne water supply on Thursday.

According to an advisory from the Water and Sewerage Authority, the disruption in water supply on Thursday 10th December 2020, will be from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

WASA explains it is necessary in order to facilitate repairs to a leak on the 24-inch transmission pipeline at the Hollis Water Treatment Plant facility.

WASA also advises that a limited truck borne service will be available to affected customers, with priority given to Health Institutions, Government Agencies and Homes for the Aged.

Areas to be affected by the water supply disruption include:

Town of Arima, Valencia, Malabar Phase 2, O’Meara Road, Samaroo Village, Bregon Park, Red Hill, Arima Old Road, Cleaver Road, Lillian Heights, La Resource, La Floressant, Arouca, Bon Air Gardens, Bon Air West, Lopinot Road, and the Eastern Main Road—from Olton Road to Dickson Street.

WASA is reminding its customers that it may take up to 24 hours for the pipe borne water supply to normalize to some areas after the facility returns to operation.
