The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of Central and South Trinidad served by the Point Lisas Desalination Plant that they may experience a disruption in their regular pipe-borne water supply on Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight.
This has become necessary in order for the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) to carry out emergency works on the electricity supply to the Desalcott owned and operated facility.
Over the period of the works, there will be a reduction in supply from the normal 40 million gallons per day (mgd) provided to the Authority.
Among the areas affected include:

- City of San Fernando,
- Duncan Village,
- Green Acres, Lady Hailes, Embabadere,
- Union Hall,
- Pleasantville,
- Palmiste,
- Phillipine,
- Esperance,
- La Romain,
- South Oropouche,
- Otaheite,
- Rousillac,
- Aripero,
- Parts of La Brea,
- Avocat,
- Fyzabad,
- Siparia,
- San Francique,
- Woodland,
- Parts of Penal,
- Debe,
- Victoria Village,
- Corinth,
- Marabella,
- Gasparillo
- Plaisance Park
Customers are asked to manage their water use efficiently, as it may take up to 36 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas, after the Plant returns to full operation.

A limited truck-borne water service will be available with priority given to special homes, health care and government institutions.
