No trick or treating for Halloween, says Dr. Paul

No super spreader events.

This was the warning given by Dr. Joanne Paul, Head of the Paediatric Emergency Department at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex during a Ministry of Health press conference on Monday.

Dr. Paul said an event such as the Halloween celebrations, which usually takes place on the night of October 31, creates an opportunity for the virus to spread.

As persons continue to adapt to the ‘new normal’, Dr. Paul said persons should remember the mnemonic MESS:

M- mask-wearing and handwashing

E- exercise and immune strength

S- social distancing

S- no super spreader events
