No new leads in St. John shooting incident at Long Circular Mall

Businessman Michael St John remains warded at hospital and is listed in stable condition after he underwent emergency surgery last Thursday for his facial wound. St. John was shot in what seemed to be an attempted murder at Long Circular mall carpark Thursday afternoon. suffered major injuries to his face, but none are said to be life-threatening.

CCTV footage of the incident showed St John being shot at by a man who got out of a nearby Hyundai Tucson.

St John had just come out of the building with another man when the Tucson reversed from a nearby parking spot, where one of the assailants was pretending to fix the vehicle. The gunman got out from the front passenger seat and fired several shots at St John, then ran back into the black SUV, which drove off. Several videos of the incident were posted to social media, including one of an injured St John sitting bleeding on the carpark ground

The day after the shooting incident staff members called for more security at the mall, but there is no visible sign of increased security at the mall.

Police are investigating the incident but have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.
