No medals but T&T sprinters set season record

Trinidad and Tobago’s Men’s 4×400 relay team produced a season best time of 3 minutes 0.03 seconds  at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene Oregon last night.

The time wasn’t good enough for a medal finish though as the team placed 5th in the final.

The outcome means that Team TTO finished the games without any medals.

Having also run a then season best time of 3:02.75 in the heats, Team TTO bettered their time by almost 3 seconds in the finals as Kashief King was replaced by Shackeem McKay while Dwight St Hilaire, Jereem Richards and Asa Guevara kept their spot.

The winning USA team set a world leading time of 2 minutes 56.17 seconds while Jamaica and Belgium ran their season best times to take silver and bronze.

The race was one of the fastest this season with all teams either setting a season best, personal best or a national record.
