There are no confirmed cases of Monkey Pox in the Caribbean.
This information was made public by Pan American Health Organization\World Health Organisation Country Representative, Dr Erica Wheeler.
Dr Wheeler was speaking at the weekly Covid-19 news briefing on Wednesday.
The World Health Organization says Monkeypox can be contained in countries outside of Africa where the virus is not usually detected.
It says more than 100 cases of the virus – which causes a rash and a fever – have been confirmed in Europe, the Americas and Australia.
Dr Wheeler said W.H.O. experts are doing extensive case finding and contact tracing.
