A 42-year-old man was denied bail after being charged for wounding with intent to murder.
Shamarie Forginie of Pierreville Mayaro and Long Circular Road St James appeared virtually before Mayaro Magistrate, Ava Vandenberg-Bailey on Monday, who ordered the man be remanded into custody.
He is expected to reappear on January 10th, 2022.
According to reports, Forginie, allegedly got into an argument with a 45-year-old man on December 10th, 2021. During the altercation, the accused was said to have armed himself with a kitchen knife and stabbed the man eight times about the body. FORGINIE also allegedly threatened to kill the man during the incident.
The Mayaro Police Station was contacted and members of the Mayaro Criminal Investigations Department (CID) responded. The victim was taken to a medical facility, treated and later discharged. A medical report was produced on his behalf.
Investigations were conducted by Sgt. (Ag.) Mohammed, Cpl. (Ag.) Dwarika, PCs Meighoo and Boodoosingh of the Mayaro CID leading to the arrest of the accused.
