There is no consideration being given at this time by the ministry of health to approve home test kits for Covid19.
So says Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards, the Ministry of Health’s Acting Principal Medical Officer in charge of Institutions.
She made the comment during the Ministry’s Covid Briefing on Wednesday.
Dr Abdool-Richards explained that the Ministry of Health is guided by information regarding testing that comes from Caribbean Public Health Agency and World Health Organization/Pan American Health Organisation.
She added that currently, according to those organizations, the PCR tests are considered to be the benchmark for COVID testing.
