Nine arrested for liming at a parlour in Sangre Grande

Nine persons are to appear before the Sangre Grande Magistrate Court today for breach of the Public Health Regulations.
During an exercise conducted in Sangre Grande between 10:30 am and 2 pm on 9th May 2021, nine persons were arrested by Sangre Grande police officers after they were found congregating at a parlour along Quash Trace, Sangre Grande.
The persons range in ages from 21 to 56 years old.
The nine persons were in breach of Section 3 (1) (b) which states “that persons shall not gather in any public place where the persons therein exceed five persons at a time.”
During the exercise, one additional person was also arrested for littering and failure to wear a mask. A further seven Public Health Notices were issued.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service would like to remind the public that the regulations put forward regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, are here to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
The TTPS urges the members of the public to avoid unsafe practices and incurring unnecessary fines by adhering to the regulations.
