Nicki Minaj soundtracks trailer for new Jennifer Lawrence comedy ‘No Hard Feelings’

Nicki Minaj has soundtracked the trailer for Jennifer Lawrence’s new film No Hard Feelings, which hits theaters this summer.

The film is produced by and stars Jennifer Lawrence, whose character Maddie is on the verge of losing her childhood home. While at work one day, Maddie discovers a job listing posted by parents looking for a potential suitor for their 19-year-old son, Percy, before he leaves for college. Chaos ensues from there.

The trailer for the film is soundtracked by Nicki Minaj’s chart-topping hit “Super Freaky Girl,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 last summer.

Super Freaky Girl” is the latest in a line of singles the Pinkprint rapper has dropped off since starting off 2022 with her Lil Baby-assisted “Do We Have A Problem?” — which won Best Hip-Hop Video at the VMA’s — and “Bussin” in addition to her collaborations with Fivio Foreign and HipHopDX’s 2022 Rising Star Coi Leray.

Nicki Minaj most recently dropped off her new song “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which she confirmed in a recent interview would not serve as the lead single off her forthcoming follow-up to 2018’s Queen.

“‘Red Ruby [Da Sleeze],’ I dropped it as a itty-bitty just something,” she said while premiering the song on the Stationhead app. “’Cause I know it’s gon’ go off on tour, it’s gon’ go off on y’all. It’s just rapping. But the album, obviously, I have to drop my official single for the album. ‘Red Ruby’ is not the official single for the album.”

Nicki Minaj had reportedly been holding onto “Super Freaky Girl” for a while before releasing it to the masses and said in an interview last year with The Dana Cortez Show that she didn’t feel right releasing vulgar music while pregnant with her son.

“My label wanted me to go full out with a single and everything when I was pregnant, and I couldn’t bring myself to put out a song about pussy and dicks and sucking and eating,” she explained. “I couldn’t bring myself to put a record out like that while my son was growing in my body!”

She added: “Nothing wrong with anybody who’s able to do it, but with me, I just felt in a very different, new space.”

“Super Freaky Girl” broke multiple streaming records upon it’s release, and also gave Nicki Minaj her very first No. 1 hit as a solo artist and first chart-topping debut for any solo female rap artist since 1998.
