Nicki Minaj reaches settlement with YouTuber over ‘Cokehead’ claims

Nicki Minaj has settled with a YouTuber who called the hip-hop star a “cokehead” in a 2022 video.

The popular vlogger Marley Green, better known as Nosey Heaux, posted a video at the time in which she said “We all know it’s true” that the hip-hop star is a cokehead.

“[Minaj is] shoving all this cocaine, shoving in all this cocaine up her nose. Allegedly. Thank you. Allegedly. But we all know it’s true,” Green said in the clip, Page Six reports. She also allegedly said Nicki’s minor son “is going to be a rapist, too,” because his father, Nicki’s husband Kenneth Petty, is a registered sex offender.

In a previous statement, Minaj’s attorney Judd Burstein, said, “Marley Green is a disgrace — someone so lacking in fundamental decency that she has posted vile comments about Nicki’s 1-year-old son. When this case is over, she will no longer be permitted to use the name ’Nosey Heaux’ because we will take her trademark from her when she does not have enough money to pay the judgment.”

“Anyone else who spreads lies about Nicki will suffer a similar fate. My marching orders are to aggressively sue anyone with a media or social media following who damages her with intentional lies. Eventually, the lesson will be learned.”

Court documents obtained by XXL reveal that, under the settlement agreement, Green acknowledges making false statements about Nicki Minaj using cocaine and has apologized for these claims. Green also pledged not to make any further false accusations about Nicki or her son.

While no punitive damages were awarded to Nicki, the settlement includes a provision that Green will owe the rapper $50,000 each time she violates any of up to four breaches of defamation.

Per XXL, those four breaches are:

(I) She will never make any statement, directly or indirectly about Nicki.
(II) She will never state or express her opinion, directly or indirectly, that [Nicki] has engaged in any criminal or unethical conduct, or otherwise engaged in conduct which reflects poorly on [Nicki’s] integrity.
(III) She will never retweet, otherwise post on social media, or publicly recount, directly or indirectly, another person’s statement (including, but not limited to any statements published in any media outlet) of alleged fact or opinion that [Nicki] has engaged in criminal or unethical conduct, or otherwise engaged in conduct which reflects poorly on her integrity.
(IV) She will never mention, directly or indirectly, [Nicki’s] husband or child in public, each of whom shall be deemed an express third-party beneficiary of this stipulation.
