Nicholas Paul books a spot in the Men’s Keirin quarterfinals; Browne sent to repechages

T&T’s cyclist, Nicholas Paul, booked his spot in the Men’s Keirin quarterfinals when he won his heat at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Velodrome on Saturday morning.

Paul managed his race well to put himself in the pole position ahead of the chasing pack where Poland’s Mateusz Rudyk grabbed the second qualification spot.

Kwesi Browne, TT’s other elite cyclist, narrowly missed out on advancing automatically when he placed third in his heat behind Israel’s Mikhail Yakolev and Columbia’s Kevin Santiago Quintero Chavarro.

The top two cyclists in each heat automatically qualified for tomorrow’s (Sunday 11th August) quarterfinal round carded to start at 5:29am (TT time).

The other riders, including Browne, were sent to the ‘repechages’ where they would have another opportunity to advance into tomorrow’s round.

The ‘repechages round’ is set to start at 1:21pm TODAY (Saturday 10th August)
