NIB Working Towards Digitally Transforming Its Operations, Says Executive Director

The next two years is the time line being given by the National Insurance Board to digitally transform its operations.

This disclosure was made public by Executive Director of the NIB, Naila Persad Poliah.

Mrs Persad Poliah was at the time speaking at a sitting of the Public Accounts Committee which focused on the audited financial statements of the state owned entity for the financial years 2014 to 2019.

Mrs Persad Poliah was asked by Public Accounts Committee member, Paula Gopee Scoon, to state how the NIB has been progressing in terms of having its systems move from paper based to a digital nature.

In response, Mrs Persad Poliah indicated the ground work being done to get the NIB in a better position in this area, the process is now at the procurement stage, and should be completed with the awarding of a contract by June 2022.

Mrs Persad Poliah said at present there are many digitalisation exercises on-going and external providers have been sourced to help in this regard.
