Nia Long and Omarion? Twitter goes crazy after the two hold hands at movie premiere

Nia Long and Omarion took a few photos together at a recent event, and social media was thrown into a complete frenzy over the link-up.

At the premiere for the Netflix comedy You People on Jan. 17 in LA, Nia appeared in a strapless white dress that hugged her curves in all the right places as she walked the red carpet, smiling for pictures.

Though gorgeous, it wasn’t the outfit that caught Twitter’s attention and caused the actress to start trending. Instead, it was the fact that she grabbed singer Omarion’s hand, posing for photos with the former B2K boy band heartthrob.

As the internet caught wind of the short clip, an eruption of jokes and comments followed, questioning whether this could be a subtle sign of a new couple alert.

Check out some of the funniest tweets below.

Last month, The Best Man star caught herself in the midst of a cheating scandal with ex-partner, former NBA player and current Boston Celtics head coach, Ime Udoka. The previously-engaged couple split after 13 years when it was publicly revealed that Udoka allegedly had an affair with a female subordinate within the team’s organization, per People.

Nia, however, quickly put the swirling rumors to rest, responding with a comment on Jan. 20 under a blog’s related Instagram post with, “Everybody simmer down… I’m single AF 😘”

It apparently seems that Twitter users who already began to “ship” the idea of the possible couple jumped the gun on this one. But although the two are not, in fact, an item, that didn’t stop them from sharing a friendly hug at the event.

Nia plays Fatima Mohammed in the upcoming film. The Kenya Barris comedy also stars Eddie Murphy (Akbar Mohammed), Lauren London (Amira Mohammed), Jonah Hill (Ezra Cohen), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Shelley Cohen), and David Duchovny (Arnold Cohen).

According to its logline, the movie follows a new couple and their families as they find themselves examining modern love and family dynamics amidst clashing cultures, societal expectations and generational differences.

You People drops on Netflix on Jan. 27.
