NFM to increase flour prices by 28% to consumers

National Flour Mills Limited announced that the cost of wheat has increased by a further 49% in 2022, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
NFM maintained that while it has been able to secure sufficient wheat stocks for an adequate supply of flour for the remainder of 2022, it has no choice now but to increase in the retail price.
In a media release issued this afternoon NFM said as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine, in order to reduce losses in its Flour Division, National Flour Mills has had to increase the wholesale price of flour by 33%, with a suggested increase averaging 28% on the retail price of flour to the consumer.
