New well project to boost water supply in East Trinidad

A new well development project is expected to increase the water supply to Toco, Sangre Grande and parts of Manzanilla.

According to the Public Utilities Ministry, the wellsite is situated off the Toco Road and could increase the supply by over 350,000 gallons per day.

The project will be funded by WASA’s Well Development Programme.

Among the areas to benefit are: Vega de Oropouche, Jabode Street, Williams Trace, Quash Trace, Upper and Lower Foster Road, Sangre Chiquito, Manzanilla, Coalmine and surrounding communities.

Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales recently visited the site with Toco/Sangre Grande MP Roger Munroe and Cumuto/Manzanilla MP Dr Rai Ragbir.
