New Carenage Police Station cost tax payers $53M

The new Carenage Police Station cost tax payers fifty-three million dollars; this was revealed as the new station was officially opened on Thursday July 1st.

Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, says the facility will be used by various units to ensure improved protection in the Western Peninsula.

Commissioner Griffith reflected on the challenges which were faced in the past before the new station was constructed.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, expressed satisfaction the facility has been completed.

Dr. Rowley also spoke on the importance of coastal patrols and offered some advice which should be considered in the recruitment process of persons for this aspect in the fight against crime.
