Cruise lines executives have expressed an interest in hiring Trinidad and Tobago nationals.
Confirmation of this comes from Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Randall Mitchell.
Minister Mitchell made the disclosure while speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing held at the Diplomatic Center, St Ann’s on Thursday.
On Wednesday the Ministry said 2,884 applicants successfully registered and submitted their applications through the Royal Caribbean Group portal for recruitment.
Minister Mitchell said other cruise lines have already expressed an interest in recruiting nationals for employment and discussions in this area have started and the public will be kept up to date on this development.
Minister Mitchell said the latest recruitment exercise is a great opportunity for nationals to be engaged in gainful employment.
