NCC Chairman says ways must be found to address congestion during carnival in POS

Ways must be found to address congestion which occurs during Carnival in Port of Spain.

The admission comes from Chairman of the National Carnival Commission, Winston Gyspy Peters.

He was at the time speaking during a meeting of the Public Administration and Appropriation Committee this week.

Mr Peters believes Carnival is getting bigger in the Capital City with largest bands and trucks and this points the need for exploration of measures to address the subject and come up with new or existing concepts   that can work.

The NCC Chairman said he is in support of concepts such as the Soca Drome which is held at the Jean Pierre Complex and usually attracts masquerades who don’t want to visit the popular Queen’s Park Savannah stage.

However, PAAC Chairman, Bridget Annisette George, wanted to get more specifics from the NCC towards partnerships with other stakeholders.
