NCC Chairman Issues Apology To Big Mike Over Stage Dispute

An apology is issued to veteran Mas band leader, Mike “Big Mike “Antoine, from Chairman of the National Carnival Commission, Winston “Gypsy” Peters.

On Carnival Tuesday, during his band’s presentation at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, Mr Antoine gave details of what allegedly took place as he claimed another band did not comply with the rules and paraded the stage ahead of his band.

Mr Antoine voiced his frustration with the development, vowing he will not take part in the competition next year in the Capital City.

However, in an interview on Wednesday, Mr Peters assured there will be no discrimination of any band, he apologised for the inconvenience caused, and stated that the issue will be addressed.

He also commented on the contribution of Mr Antonie to the art form over the years.
