National Workers Union Claims Attempt To Reduce NIS Pension

The National Workers Union is calling on the trade union movement to join with non-unionized workers to defeat the attempt to reduce NIS pension by 6% for each year retirement takes place before age 65.

NWU says the struggle for decent wage increases is a part of the struggle to build a society free from exploitation of working people, free from oppression, corruption and crime in high and low places; free from failing public utilities, a decent transportation system, proper roads and health care and an education system geared to meet the needs of modern society.

In a media release on Monday, it said members must demand from their union leaders that an all-union conference of branch officers and Shop Stewards be convened so that direction can be sought by the leadership from the members.
