National Security Minister: TTPS Continues Investigation Into Death Of Venezuelan Baby At Sea

Four occupants of the Venezuelan migrant vessel in which a baby was killed and the child’s mother shot, on February 6th this year, have been interviewed by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, told the Senate of the development Tuesday afternoon.

The migrants were captured after the boat was intercepted by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard.

The nine month old baby reportedly died at hospital.

Minister Hinds said the TTPS continues its probe into the matter.

Minister Hinds said thirty –five Venezuelans who were on the vessel were not in possession of valid passports and visa and were repatriated by the Immigration Division.
