Over 1700 Closed Circuit Television Cameras are functional in the country.
This is according to Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds.
He gave the information during the sitting of the House in Parliament this morning.
Responding to a supplemental question from Member of Parliament for St Augustine Kadisha Ameen on when the cameras would be fixed, Hinds said that it was an ongoing process.
On another supplemental question from the St Augustine MP on the availability of CCTV cameras in the Heights of Aripo where several dead bodies were found, Minister Hinds said conversations with the TTPS suggests that such a venture would be very difficult.
