National Disaster Preparedness Exercise Will Take Place From 8AM Today To 10AM Wednesday

From 8am today (Tuesday 28th May) to 10am Wednesday 29th May, a National Disaster Preparedness Exercise will take place.

The move is being done by the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management National Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Multi-Sectoral Committee.

The exercise is part of the National Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Month’s activities and the principal locations that would be used are in the vicinity of Grand Bazaar, the Curepe Interchange on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, Santa Cruz and Penal.

This exercise is an interagency event, involving national response agencies with the aim of strengthening their preparedness and response capabilities.

The NDPPMC intends to keep traffic disruption to the minimum and the public is requested to cooperate with the members of the Trinidad and Tobago Municipal Police Service, who will be onsite to assist with traffic management.

The public is further advised should there be a real hazard event during the exercise, the citizenry will be immediately notified.
