National Cultural Foundation: Survey Respondents Prefer New Crop Over Route

A survey conducted by Barbados’ National Cultural Foundation after the August 1st jump, said masqueraders, spectators and vendors have all given the nod to the new Grand Kadooment route from Warrens to the National Botanical Gardens along the ABC Highway.

The majority of the respondents, who are between the ages of 18 and 44 and female, said they were notified and kept abreast of Crop Over happenings via the Internet.

The respondents were mostly Barbadian with input from people of the region, United States, Canada and Britain.

Overall, 52.73 per cent of the total respondents preferred this year’s route compared to 47.29 per cent who wanted the old route from the National Stadium to the Mighty Grynner Highway.

50.19 per cent of masqueraders, 53.8 per cent of spectators and 54.17 per cent of vendors are the three groups surveyed.
