National Awards 2020/2021 hosted after two year delay

After a two year delay to COVID-19 restrictions, the National Awards 2020 took place on Monday March 7, at a ceremony hosted at The President’s House.

The National Awards 2021 will be conferred on recipients on Wednesday March 9, 2022 also at The President’s House from 5:00pm.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley joined President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Her Excellency, Paula Mae Weekes and the Hon Chief Justice Ivor Archie at the Presentation Ceremony of the National Awards 2020.

The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago recipient Dr. Wayne Frederick.
Dr. Wayne Frederick, Chair of Surgery was awarded in the Sphere of Medicine/Education.

The Chaconia Medal, Gold is conferred to Former High Commissioner of the Republic of the Trinidad and Tobago and former Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, Mr. Orville London, in the Sphere of Education and Public Service.

 

Recipient of The Public Service Medal of Merit, Gold, Dr. Verleen Bobb-Lewis. The Public Service Medal of Merit, Gold was awarded to Dr. Verleen Bobb-Lewis, Retired School Supervisor in the Sphere of Education.

 

The Humming Bird Medal, Silver recipient Mr. Gregory Medina. Artist/Designer, Mr. Gregory Medina was awarded in the Sphere of Arts/Costume Design.

The Public Service Medal of Merit, Gold, conferred to Mr. Girdharry Seerattansingh, Retired Principal, in the Sphere of Education.

The Medal for the Development of Women, Gold is awarded to Development Consultant, Ms. Terry Ince in the sphere of the Development of Women’s Rights.

Reeanna Harrilal was awarded the Humming Bird Medal (gold) for her efforts to build and foster greater awareness of Lupus in Trinidad and Tobago.
