A man was fatally shot in the Morvant area this morning.
Around 6:30am, residents of Mon Repos reported hearing a series of loud explosions and upon investigation, discovered a man known to them lying on the roadway in a pool of blood.
Officers of the Morvant Police Station and the Homicide Bureau are currently on the scene.
