Jordan Cashmyer, a star of MTV’s reality series 16 and Pregnant, has died in Maryland.
According to Variety she was 26. Cashmyer’s death was announced by family member Jessica Cashmyer in a Facebook post via the account of her late husband — and Jordan’s father — Dennis M. Cashmyer Jr.
Although her death was confirmed, a medical examiner did not disclose the manner or cause of it.
Cashmyer and her boyfriend, Derek Taylor, appeared on the show in 2014 where they discussed their issues dealing with homelessness and being disowned by Jordan’s family since they didn’t approve of her relationship with Derek.
The couple broke up after the show but they were not able to take care of their daughter, Evie, and her parents stepped in to help. Cashmyer also signed away her custody rights to Taylor’s mother in 2015 as she struggled with her mental health, addiction, and thoughts of suicide.
