MSJ says they are concerned with government’s efforts to implement the Salary Relief Grant

The Movement for Social Justice says it is very concerned with what it describes as the slow pace of the government’s efforts to implement the Salary Relief Grant to citizens who have been retrenched or lost income due to COVID-19.

It claims that many citizens are suffering the economic impact of the pandemic.

In a media release the MSJ said on May 17th Prime Minister, Dr. Rowley, stated that only twelve thousand grants had been processed.

The MSJ said the private sector has indicated that over one hundred thousand persons have been affected and the government itself had indicated it was catering for eighty thousand persons.
