MSJ Leader: Regional Heads Must Meet To Discuss Caribbean’s Food Security Amid Russia/Ukraine Conflict

The Movement for Social Justice is suggesting regional leaders meet in the near future to discuss Caribbean’s food security.

MSJ Political Leader, David Abdullah, says this meeting should be held soon especially in light of the on-going war between Russia and Ukraine.

Mr Abdullah speaking at a news briefing held by the party on Monday claimed there are serious implications for the region and the world from the fall out of the current war conflict.

The MSJ Leader said the meeting regional government head is vital at this time where they can explore what can be done to lessen the region’s dependence of imported food.

Mr Abdullah said there are opportunities in the region for increasing food production which will go a long way in bringing a level of stability in the agriculture sector.

Mr Abdullah also suggested to the government it take action to urge the National Flour Mills not to increase the price of flour and animal feed at this time.
